Gardens, parks and art…

Have had a relaxing several days in Seattle walking and enjoying the beautiful gardens of Queen Anne Hill where my brother lives, Magnusen Park’s Fin Project : From Swords to Plowshares, and the Seattle Art Museum’s (SAM) wonderful collection. SAM has a terrific temporary exhibit of etchings — including pieces by Rembrandt and Picasso.

Keith at the Fin Project- a sculpture park created using the actual diving-plane fins from decommissioned US Navy subs built in the 1960s. The fins are arranged to simulate the dorsal fins of a large Orca whale pod. Keith, the naval historian, surely liked this park and was glad to be reunited with the USS Whale which he had been on some years back.
